Did you miss DemoFest? Here’s the best of MLearnCon 2013
by Geoff Stead
Ever get bored of sales pitches, and want to know what is REALLY happening in mobile learning?
We do! That’s why we set up this site. And that’s why we sponsored the first ever mLearnCon Demofest, asking anybody with a good idea, a cool app.
It happened in Silicon Valley, June 2013 as part of mLearnCon. Here is our lightning summary of the event:
33 amazing teams took up this challenge, submitting their innovative mobile learning tools, and projects – and allowed the audience to vote on the winners!
We battled the crowds for some one-on-one time with a few of the contestants. Check out our demofest interviews article for the highlights.
At the end of the evening, when the votes came in, the prize winners were:
- Best Non-vendor: Scott Peterson, PricewaterhouseCoopers, for “Our Brand, Our Clients, and You”
- Best Vendor: Pooja Jaising, Adobe Systems, for “Interactive eBook: The New Drag and Drop Feature in Adobe Captivate”
- Best Overall: Chad Udell, Float Mobile Learning, for “How Tappestry Demonstrates the use of the Tin Can API in Action”
- Special Qualcomm Award: Steven Beggs of Home Depot of Canada for “SmaRT Learning: Mobile Performance Support at Home Depot Canada”
Congratulations to all of you for awesome, and inspiring work.
